April's Warehouse Session
It’s time to give you the full lowdown on the first in our second season of warehouse sessions, kicking off on Saturday April 20th!
Hot on the heels of our event at Dina Wines in London on the 19th, we are of course bringing Italian winemaker Antonio Gismondi to Leeds the very next day to pour his entire range of wines in person from bottle, magnum and jeroboam. Every single wine he produces (and that we bring into the country as Wayward Imports) will be open by the glass – the perfect opportunity to investigate his particular brand of Campania vino. Light bodied, aromatic and with a smoky, volcanic heart, they are ideal wines to drink in a party context such as this – nourishing, thirst-quenching and lifted as they are! We’re so happy to bring Antonio to the north for the very first time. Come and meet him.
There will, as usual, be cheese in abundance care of our archway neighbours George & Joseph, and we’re pleased to welcome back Will Campbell (formerly of Ox Club now at Harewood Food & Drink Project) to serve up more of his herby porchetta and salt-baked celeriac sandwiches to keep you well-fed.
The soundsystem is back and music will come in the form of vinyl-only sets from warehouse session regulars Thea HD (check out her blissful, bucolic bi-weekly show on NTS, and her newly-minted label, Odda Recordings) and Barry’s Here (frontman at choice Leeds wax emporium With Egg, Jazz Club bossman and one quarter of long-time DJ residency Simpatico). Only the finest cuts to accompany the merrymaking.
We write in a time of April showers, but rest assured, if the clouds have not completely parted by then, we’ll have the arch set up for indoor seating to keep all eventualities covered.
Saturday April 20th at 61 Brussels Street, a short walk from Kirkgate Market, right behind the old Stinky’s Peephouse. 1-9pm, no tickets, no reservations, just come through!
